Beberapa hal yang perlu dilakukan setelah install backtrack, disini saya memakai backtrack 5 r2 :)


Update manager : apt-get install update-manager
Synaptic Package Manager : apt-get install synaptic
Ubuntu Software Center : apt-get install software-center
VLC : apt-get install vlc
Codec Multimedia : apt-get install gstreamer-dbus-media-service gstreamer-tools ubuntu-restricted-extras
Compiz : apt-get install compiz compiz-fusion-plugins-extra compiz-fusion-plugins-unsupported emerald simple-ccsm fusion-icon
Chromium : apt-get install chromium-browser chromium-browser-l10n
Gparted : apt-get install gparted ntfsprogs menu ntfs-config
Gimp : apt-get install gimp 
Quanta, Netbeans : apt-get install quanta kompozer nvu netbeans
FileZilla : apt-get install filezilla filezilla-common
Audacious : apt-get install audacious
Rhythmbox : add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/rhythmbox && sudo apt-get update
apt-get install rhythmbox

Bagi kawan kawan yang ingin install google chrome di backtrack 5 soalnya di backtrack blm ada google chrome.. silakan di lihat saja yahh postingan nya... pertama sekali masuk ke terminal. lalu kalo sudah masuk.. tekan $apt-get install chromium-browser biarkan proses berjalan,setelah itu kalo sudah selesai kita lihat google chromenya, biasanya terletak di >apllication-internet.... tinggal pilih google chromenya... setelah kita click kenapa keluar pesan error yahh?? ehhmmm...

jangan takut ..dan jangan bimbang semua boleh di atasi kalo kita tekun...hehehehe.. untuk mengatasinya tekan perintah dibawah dkat terminal root@bt:/usr/lib/chromium-browser# hexedit chromium-browser kemudian akan keluar bilangan binary di terminal.... tapi jgn risau n pening, itu cuma menakut nakutkan kowg bagi yang baru belajar backtrack sprti guaa.....ni gambarnya ....hehehe

kita hanya perlu mengedit sedikit saja..... pastikan kita tekan butang Tab... kursornya dapat berpindah pindah,setelah itu kita harus mencari sebuah kata diterminal caranya tekan butang ctrl+s...untuk mencari kata tersebut .

setelah ketemu kita ganti kata dengan dan setelah diganti,simpan konfigurasinya dengan menekan butang ctrl+X setelah itu jalankan google crhome nya dari >application-internet berhasil kan??...kalo tak berhasil berarti anda kurang beruntung, coba lagi dan lagi :P semoga boleh membantu....wassalam sumber :




Google Chrome and Chromium arent the same thing.
"The Chromium projects include Chromium and Chromium OS, the open-source projects behind the Google Chrome browser and Google Chrome OS, respectively."

If you want to install google chrome, for example because of easier install of extensions, you have to do this:

Download the latest .deb from google chrome website.
-Open terminal
-Type: dpkg -i google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb
(or whatever ur filename is)
-When you have installed it, you have to do this to be able to run it:
-In terminal: cd /usr/bin
gedit google-chrome
(or if u are using kde, then "kate google-chrome")

At the end of exec -a "$0" "$HERE/chrome" "$@" 
Add --user-data-dir 
So it looks like this
exec -a "$0" "$HERE/chrome" "$@" --user-data-dir 

start the app from menu or type google-chrome to terminal
